Lia climbed up the fence of the graveyard, knowing she could've just gone in the gate but decided she felt like jumping the fence. She landed and lit a cigarette with the cheapo lighter she had found on the ground. She wanted one of those expensive ones that were rectangular and metal, but of course she couldn't get one of those. She had to get a job first. Then she had to find the place to get the lighter or whatever it was called. She walked to the middle of the graveyard as the sun was setting, making the graveyard look a little eerie as the shadows lengthened. Lia walked up to the huge oak tree there and took a long swig of the cigarette and blew the smoke out after a moment. She shoved the cigarette in the side of her mouth and made her way up the tree. She got to the biggest branch which was perfectly horizontal from the tree. She dangled her legs on either side and leaned against the branch behind her. She pulled out her switch blade and started flipping it out, then pushing it back, flipping it out, pushing it back in...

Eko wanted a bit of alone time. It had been a long night of useless searching. No Serial killer, no shoot outs. The past week had been a bit of a bummer. The gangs had come to a verbal ceasefire till the killer was caught. For all she knew the cops could have caught the guy and this whole peace agreement could be planned. But it didn't matter anymore, at least until something big happened again and she had to get back into action.
The gang would give her a talk for sneaking out from the group. But people were the last thing she wanted. Her English book was in her sweatshirt pocket, just in case she found that peaceful place to read. But if the guys say her with 'Hamlet' she would never here the end of it. Then again they had seen her with a ton of other books and papers. Summer was already to short.
Emiko found an old tree and climbed it to get over a high point in the fence. When she landed on the inside of the graveyard she looked around for the grounds keeper. The two weren't on the best terms. The last time she tried to walk in threw the main entrance she was banned for having a gun on her, but no charges were drawn. So she headed to the one tree in the graveyard and leaned against it. To bad she had left her cigarettes home. She could almost...smell one?

Lia noticed another girl coming into the graveyard and stopped playing with her knife for a moment to be quiet, but then decided it wouldn't make much of a difference. She started again, doing it with extra vigor. She made bigger clouds of smoke, trying to create a ring but not quite good enough yet. She kept an eye on the girl who, Lia noticed, seemed older than her. She strained her eyes to see who it was, but the darkness hid the stranger.

After a moment she heard a strange noise. Eko couldn't put a name to the noise or even what was causing it. But the strong burts of second hand smoke from above gave her a slight clue someone had beat her here. So she looked up to see a younger girl tossing a knife at a tree and getting a few drags out of a cigarette. Luckily it wasn't her brand or she would have probably taken the pack. "You know that stuff can kill you right?"

"Of course." Lia replied, smirking and pushing the blade into the handle for good and stashing it in her pocket. "I'm not stupid." Lia recognized the girl but did not know her name. She wondered why anyone else was in the graveyard, but didn't really care why or if they were there.

"Just checking. Your a little young." She said. But she was to young too. "The name's Emiko, you can call me eko if you want. You are?" She asked trying to start a conversation.

Lia grinned at being something unexpected and unusual. "Lia." she replied simply, nodding at Eko and not wanting to say her awful full name. "Nice to meet you." she added, at least trying to sound friendly.

"It's nice to meet you too, Lia." She said as she looked around the dreary graveyard. When she was younger people were always here visiting there loved ones. But from the looks of it now, no one showed up anymore. It was sad to see but it wasn't going to bother her. "If I'm not intruding, may I ask what your doing in the graveyard this late?"

"To get away. Be away from people." Lia replied, shrugging a little. "Why are you here?" she asked, not wanting to just let Eko get away with being there for no big reason.

Eko nodded and smirked slightly. But when the question was backfired she sighed. Still she responded. "I needed to get away from my friends and read for a bit. A bit dorky but I have to read it." She said as she rubbed the back of her head.

"Oh. I see." Lia replied, looking up at the sky through the branches of the trees. That was a good enough answer and Lia didn't know what else to say, so she shut up.

"Ya..." She said with a sigh as she looked around for the grounds keeper. No sight of him yet, luckily. "Do you mind if I sit down here?" She asked as she pulled the book out of her pocket.

"Nope." Lia replied nonchalantly, flicking the cigarette in her hand. She took a long drag from it and held the smoke in for a long while, then blew it up in the air.

"Thanks." Emiko said with a nod. She sat down at the base of the tree and pulled the school book out of her pocket. Hamlet opened up in front of her she read for a bit as the girl above her smoked a cigarette. It didn't bother Eko to much since she was never really 'adicted' to it. Still her mind was on the book as well as the serial killer.

Lia watched the smoke billow around her, something to say coming to mind but not wanting to interrupt Eko's reading, Lia knew that was annoying.
