A dark figure was sitting on the roof of the school. No big to him. His face was burried between his legs, and his blonde hair was pulled back in a long ponytail. Amber eyes stared at the lined top of the roof. Silver dots of water trickled down he young boy's face, but he didn't look up. He was hunched over, a sunset peeking throuhg the clouds and the beams shining on him.

The blond sniffed and looked up just a bit. Everythign was falling apart. His whole life crumbling upon his doorstep. He could never go back to the way things were, when mom... Ed Squeezed his eyes shut, trying to force unwanted sobs back. But river did come, and the boy bared his teeth, trying to come over his emotional sadness.

Julie snuck up to the roof, wanting to be alone and away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city. She came up and felt the cool wind on her face, comforting her as it always did. She noticed a young man she recognized from school and looked at him for a moment. She was behind him, but she could tell he was crying. Not being one that was great at comforting people she was a little vigilant about going and trying to help, but she thought she should give it a try. She walked over and sat next to him and was quiet for a moment. "Are you ok?" she asked, knowing the question was probably no....if someone was crying of course they weren't!

Edward looked away from her smiling face. There was no point in talking if she was just going to leave anyway. But she seemed so gentle, and she gave Edward hope. He looked up a bit into her sparkling eyes. Well, what did she think, he was doing this for fun?
The roof had always been Ed's solitary escape route. Whenever he was having problems in life, he always ran here. It made him feel better, it made him feel braver. But it wasn't compete without Al...
He growled at her and pulled away, moving to the right a bit. He didn't want to cause her apin, like everyone else. He didn't want her to know about him. he pulled the red robe around him up a bit and looked away, his blond ponytail whipping around, almost hitting her in the face.

Al appeared on the roof not somewhere where he'd go all the time. But Ed had vanished someone said somthing about mom and called him little and it must of have pissed him off. He walked up and Saw Ed and another girl, the girl was cute but that wasn't the point right now to think about his crappy love life "Whats wrong big brother?"

Edward looked up at Al. His younger brother always made him feel better, but this time, Ed was angry. He got up and stormed of to another edge of the roof, just looking a the sunset. He didn't want to think about Al.
Edward heard Julie's words. She was lying. They all were. He sneered and gave a coarse chuckle. "Yeah," he said in a low angry voice. What did she know? He kicked a nearby rock and watched it fall off the roof.
Edward glared at Alphonse. "He's bad, Al!" He hissed. Leaving his spot of solitude, he flew up to Al to grab the collar of his shirt. "He's bad! Why do you trust him? He didn't even come to..." It was enough for Ed. More tears came streaming down hsi cheeks and he gritted his teeth. Their father was an idiot. Did that mean... they were the same?

Julie frowned a little as she watched the guy walk away. She glanced at the brother and then down at her hands. She didn't like so see people sad. She stood up and sighed, not knowing what to do next.

"Oh. I see." Julie said, sitting back down and watching the boys as the younger one tried to comfort the other. She could remember moments like this with her sister. They were tough. She had been in both situations before and it was tough both ways.

Edward just looked at him, foretting about the other person there. He didn't get it. Al just didn't get what he was saying. Ed refued to move twoards his younger brother. Instead, he just looked away, not being able to to gaze into those calm, gray eyes.
Edward shook his head. "It won't be ok," he muttered darkly. He pushed away from his brother. It was no use. Al trusted someone he didn't. Their father hadn't even cared about their mother. Oh how he missed her. Life wasn't the same. He felt like dying. "I don't ever want you to go too, Al."

Julie understood it better now and walked over. "What would she want?" she said gently, her face soft.

Edward turned away from Alphonse. "I don't know," he muttered, a reply to julie's question. She didn't looks suspicious. Quietly, he walke over and stucka hand out. "I'm Edward by the way," he said kindly.
There was no point in being mean anymore. All he had to do was suck it up. He sighed, and sat down next to the sophmore, staring at his right arm for a bit, before dismissing it. He smiled at her. "Wanna see something?"

Julie smiled, but knew Edward wasn't over it. "I'm Juliette, but you can call me Julie." she said, still smiling. "Uh, sure." she replied, curious.

A broad smile crossed edward's face. It wasn't so bad. He stuck put his right arm to shake her hand. But instead, he pulled back the glove, exposing his hand.
"See?" he said kindly, flexing his fingers. His arm was metal, of course. Small joints moved back adn forth as he moved his fingers around. He smiled, and then put his glove on. "I've never shown that to anybody," he whispered, flicking hs blonde hair off his shoulders.

Julie was taken back by the sight of the arm and the gesture of Edward even showing it to her. She looked at the arm and then back to Edwards face. "That's amazing." she said, watching the joints move. "Why show me?" she asked quietly, looking in awe back at Edward. She wondered why he even had a metal arm too.
